2020 year in review
In these unprecedented times, with the Covid-19 impacting our everyday life, we hope that you and your loved ones are healthy and safe. We would like to bring you a few words from our Managing Director, Alexandros Tsaktanis, to update you on Global Aviation’s performance appraisal for 2020 and his predictions for 2021.
"This year has been, without a doubt, a very difficult year. Covid-19 has been particularly hard on the aviation sector, being the most severe crisis, the industry has seen since the birth of commercial air travel. Since the beginning of the pandemic our prime concern has been the health and safety of our students, our co-workers, and our community. Moreover, we made the decision to continue with perseverance on the same path of sustainable growth we have been on for more than a decade. We carried on implementing our investment plan, adding new aircraft to our fleet, growing our team of instructors and completing the single most important investment to date, purchasing a private airfield dedicated to our flight training needs.
As the year comes to close and despite the restrictions due to the pandemic, we are seeing our training hours grow by almost 55%. More importantly, we are witnessing the dedication of our students to follow their dream and their confidence that their future career will be prosperous and rewarding.
2021 will be a challenging year, but it will also mark the return to normality that will come sooner than many expect. It will be the year we put the greatest challenge of our generation behind us and move forward onto a bright future. The long-term prospects of the industry are great. The fundamental megatrends that have fueled growth for years are as strong as ever and I am very proud to see that our students share the same vision.
On behalf of everyone at Global Aviation, I wish you a happy and, above all healthy, New Year."
Alexandros Tsaktanis, Managing Director
