In order to enroll in Global Aviation’s courses, the student must pass the academy’s pre-entry assessment and interview with the CTKI, which are conducted online.
Symbiotics ADAPT is an assessment tool used in aviation to evaluate a candidate’s aptitude, cognitive skills, and behavioral tendencies in a structured, scenario-based environment. It measures areas such as decision-making, situational awareness, problem-solving, and adaptability under pressure, which are critical for flight operations and crew performance. The test includes the following subparts:
- ADAPT Personality Questionnaire
- Cognitive Reasoning
- Future Aptitude Selection Tool (FAST)
- Maths Progressive
- Physics Progressive
ADAPT Personality Questionnaire
Personality Questionnaire is designed to measure a candidate's personality, values, behaviour and attitudes. Each of the question is designed by psychologists to identify specific aspects of the psyche as well as personality or behavioural traits.
Cognitive Reasoning
Symbiotics' cognitive tests, available at intermediate and advanced level, are designed to assess the candidates' work-related cognitive capacity and suitability for training including Verbal Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, Working Memory, Perceptual Speed & Accuracy, Spatial Relationship Reasoning and Abstract Reasoning.
The test comprises randomly generated questions from the question banks to avoid copying and cheating and takes 30 minutes to complete.
The output report provides a breakdown of the users' performance overall (accuracy and response speed), against the six cognitive elements and against the general population distribution.
Future Aptitude Selection Tool (FAST)
Designed by Symbiotics Psychologists, FAST takes around 15 minutes to complete and places the candidate in an ever-increasingly stressful situation to determine how well they can function as the number and intensity of overlapping tasks increase.
The test determines how well a candidate can prioritise tasks, manage multiple activities and learn from each flight scenario to improve their overall performance.
Maths Progressive
The Maths Progressive Test assesses the candidates' ability to apply mathematical knowledge, formulae and calculations.
The test comprises 20 randomly selected questions and increases in difficulty through 3 levels - Foundation (worth 1 mark each), Intermediate (2 marks) and Advanced (5 marks). It is aligned to an 18+ level. Calculations include Speed, Distance, Time, Fuel Consumption and Bearings.
The test takes 30 minutes to complete and automatically finishes after this time regardless of whether the candidate has answered all the questions.
Physics Progressive
The Physics Progressive Test assesses the candidates' ability to apply formulas and calculations from the physics field.
The test comprises 20 randomly selected questions and increases in difficulty through 3 levels - Foundation (worth 1 mark each), Intermediate (2 marks) and Advanced (5 marks). It is aligned to an 18+ level.
The test takes 30 minutes to complete and automatically finishes after this time regardless of whether the candidate has answered all the questions.
